How to make a reservation?

Booking a church with the Heilige Nachten pop-up concept can be done through the Heilige Nachten website. You can also book the monastery with us. Heilige Nachten also offers special overnight stays in churches that belong to external parties and are no pop-up concept. At these churches, you will be directed to an external website, where you can book. You will find an overview of all churches on the Search & Book page .

Do I need to pay in advance?

We ask you to pay in advance. Our website does not currently contain a post-payment method. Should you cancel your booking before the 7 days before the start, you will get your money back as usual.

Do I have the church all to myself?

At most churches you do! That’s what makes this overnight stay special. The church is exclusively for you and your travel group during your stay. In the monastery you also have complete privacy, half a wing is yours for a while! Only at the hotel in Hoorn do you share the church with other people. Of course, you do have your own room here.

I have a gift voucher, where can I return it?

You can use the gift card to book churches with the Heilige Nachten pop-up concept, or the monastry in Handel. It also includes special overnight stays in churches that belong to outside parties. At these churches, you will be directed to an external website, where you can book. it is not possible to redeem giftcards at these locations yet. We are in talks about this. Can my child also stay overnight?

Yes, please! We just think that’s fun. In some churches we even have special facilities for small children. More information about this can be found in the church description.

From what age do I pay for my child?

For children of ages 4 and up we charge €52. Children up to the age of 3 are free. We do not have any special rates for children, as making a bed is work and laundry for our host, and more people in the church also means there is a bigger mess left behind.

Are the churches suitable for people with walking difficulties?

Unfortunately, not all churches are equally suitable for people with walking difficulties. Specific information about this can be found in the church description.

Can I bring my dog?

Unfortunately pets are not allowed in all churches. Dogs are only welcome in Peperga and Noordbroek, at the cost of a €20 surtax. Please settle in cash with the host.

Can I make a group reservation?

The maximum number of people varies by church from 1 to a maximum of 6 people. The monastery can accommodate larger groups, but they don’t allow every group. Contact us for options.

How can I change or cancel a reservation?

You can change or cancel your reservation free of charge up to 7 days before your overnight stay. To do so, send an email to info@heiligenachten.nl. If you cancel within 7 days before your overnight stay, we will unfortunately not refund your money.

Check in and out

How is the check-in going?

Because we like to meet our guests, our host or hostess will receive you personally as much as possible. You will then receive a short explanation of how everything works and some more information about the church and the surrounding area. If a personal reception is unfortunately not possible, we work with a key safe.

From when can I check in?

In principle, you can check in from 15:00 on the day of arrival. But this varies from church to church. So pay close attention to the information on the page of the relevant location under ‘facilities’. We will discuss your arrival time wishes with you and the local host. If there really is no other option, we also offer the option of checking in with a key box. For the Dorpskerk in Oosterwolde applies – if there is a funeral, the check-in is from 17:00.

Until what time can I check in?

You can check in between 15:00 and 18:00. In the unlikely event that you do not meet the latest check-in time, please contact the host or hostess. Contact details can be found in the instruction email that you will receive from us three days before your overnight stay. In some churches there can sometimes be an unexpected funeral. The check-in time may then be different. If this is the case, we will contact you about this.

Until what time can I check out?

In principle, in most churches you can check out no later than 12:00 on the day of departure. Check-out times may also vary per church. Read the information on the church page under ‘facilities’. In some churches there can sometimes be an unexpected funeral. The check-out time may then differ. If this is the case, we will contact you about this.
